Where to stay? and why? (hotel guests)

One of the biggest regrets that people have when they are coming on vacations is prior booking a hotel they dont do a full research of the place they are going to be staying at and the distances in case they are interested in doing tours or activities. Why is this so important?

I have had clients in the past that stay for example in Punta de Mita and they come with all the intention of doing activities or partying. Punta de Mita is not the best place to be because there is nothing there to do, its totally quiet and calm is mostly for retired people or people that really want to relax.

Also most of the tours and activities are in Puerto Vallarta, so if they are interested in doing some kind of activity they will have to get a cab to the meeting location in most of the cases here in Puerto Vallarta, because of Taxi Union Regulations there are very few operators that will pick you up in your hotel especially if you are staying in Punta de Mita which is (1.5hrs each way). Mostly nobody does pickup in that area. So at the end you end up spending a lot of money in Taxis back and forth just because you are staying so far from where the party scene is. So please take all of this in consideration prior booking your hotel. Most of the hotels in Punta de Mita will tell you they are not that far from PV because if they tell you the truth you probably will not stay in their hotel, but when clients arrive and they see that what the hotel told them is a complete lie they get upset and that is just not the best way to start your vacations, so dont always believe what your hotel tells you, look for a second opinion of a local person that you know will tell you the truth.

However If your intention is relax and not leave your hotel then Punta de Mita and Nuevo Vallarta are the best options.

If you will like to stay in the following places (Nuevo Vallarta, Punta de Mita, Bucerias, Sayulita) my recomendation is do a lot of research prior booking your hotel and really ask yourself what are your plans? if you want to party? do activities? or just relax so you can choose the best place to be.
