The Difference Between Booking a Public Tour or a Private Tour 🚗  

 

To some people its not very clear what the differences are when they join a "public" tour or they book a "private" tour thats why I decided to explain the basic differences.

 

🔴PUBLIC 
They are cheaper.- One of the things that most people like about public activities is that they are cheaper because they share the cost of the vehicle/boat with many more people. 
🔵PRIVATE
When you rent a vehicle/boat just for you and your group the more people you are the less expensive this will be.

 

🔴PUBLIC
Setup Itinerary.- Its very important that you are aware that when you are joining a public activity there is an itinerary already set up, and you are subject to it. I often have people interested in joining a "public" tour or activity but they want to change this or change that. 
🔵PRIVATE
Your own Itinerary.-The fun part about a private service is that you are able to set your own itinerary (as long as its possible) and I want to make this very clear because I have many people asking for miracles. For example a person staying in Punta de Mita and they want to have a private driver for 4hrs but they want pickup, dropoff, take them here and there in the PV area, plus additional time to stop to have lunch. We do our best to accomodate all of our clients requests but if your tour agent recommends additional hours to accomodate all of your requested spots please take it in consideration.

 

🔴PUBLIC
Schedule Time.-The public tours like we mentioned before they already have a setup starting time, this means that if for whatever reason your alarm doesnt ring on that day, you are stuck in traffic, you get lost, or for whatever reason you arrive late there are big chances that they have started the activity without you. 
🔵PRIVATE
Your own starting time.-The good about the private activities is that you are able to schedule your own starting time based on the availability of the tour operator, and even if you are late on that day (depending on the company and how late you are) they will be there waiting for you and your group since this service is just for you. Just take in consideration that in most cases the time that you lost by being late you will not be able to recover.

✔️If you have any special requests when it comes to itinerary please choose a private option

✔️If you are coming on a cruise ship sometimes is better to play it safe and book a private option

✔️If you are traveling with an electric wheelchair (not foldable) its better to book a private option

Based on your group´s needs you can check both option and choose the best one for your next activity.
