Why is a bad idea to book a tour the day of your arrival or departure? ✈️  

 

I totally understand that when you go on vacations you will try to fit the most activities possible the days that you will be in town, however booking a tour on the day of your arrival or departure is not always a good idea. Specially if this is a PUBLIC tour (not a private service) 

 

These are a few things that you will need to consider:

🔴(arrival) *The flight can be delayed 
🔴(arrival) *The flight can be cancelled
🔴(arrival) *You could have problems boarding

🔵(departure) *There could be traffic 
🔵(departure) *There could be a mechanical issue 
🔵(departure) *There could be any kind of delay

 

The worst part about these situations based on my personal experience is that the people when booking a tour most of the time they dont mention is the day of their arrival or departure and we find that out until they are letting us know they are running late for their flight OR their flight got cancelled and they will not be able to make it for the tour. Sadly in most of these cases when we are notified about this is last minute when there is very little or nothing that can be done. Please take this into consideration

 

✴️My Recommendations✴️
✔️Just DON´T do it (dont book tours or activities on your arrival/departure day)

✔️If you decide to take the risk of doing it, take resposability of what could happen (dont get upset and end up blaming the tour company or the person that sold you the activity)

✔️When booking let the person know that will be your arriving or departing day, maybe knowing this information they will able to accomodate you on another date or time where you are not running the risk of missing your tour.

✔️Check with the person your booking their cancelation policy because most of the time for last minute it will be nonrefundable and you will not be able to reschedule.
