Will you like to release Baby Sea Turtles?🐢❤️

Please check this helpful travel tip before purchasing this tour

If you have been following me for some time you must know that this is not the first time that I talk about this activity, however it will be the first time that I will give you all my best tips so you can do this activity on your own if you are coming on a budget or not.

I will like to start with a question... if you are aware that this turtle camp is surviving by donations wouldnt you prefer to give them your 100% donation? instead of buying a tour that will take you to that same spot and will cost you around $30-40usd per person and only "part of it" goes to this camp.

Here are the 2 options on how you can get to this turtle camp on your own.

#1 BUS - If you are coming on a budget or you just dont want to spend so much money getting to this camp its very easy just be prepared to do a lot of walking 🚶‍♀️depending wherever you are staying you need to get a bus in PV that says "Marina Vallarta" be sure to get the correct one because some buses just passby the "Marina Vallarta whale" but there is only one bus that really goes inside of the Marina Vallarta area it will say "Marina Vallarta" (white and blue or if its one of the new ones it will be just white) so I grab the bus and be sure to get off where they are making the U turn near the "Bay View Grand Condo" or you can also ask the driver to drop you off in that area. (see image below) from there facing the bay view grand i started walking to the street on the right side, I was checking on google maps and this was the best description that I can give all of you about the route that I walked (see image below) basically what I felt I did was just walked around, I walked maybe like 10-15min and once I arrived and was facing the beach I turn to the right side and be prepared to walk around 30min in the sand. 😰 you will find the turtle camp for sure.

#2 UBER/CAB/CAR - If you have your own vehicle or plan on taking an Uber/Cab I suggest that you ask the driver to take you to the "Boca de Tomates restaurants". By doing this you will get a chance to passby a crocodile sanctuary and ask your driver to make a quick stop for some pictures/videos, also by arriving from the other side of the turtle camp (near the restaurants) facing the ocean you will only have to walk like 15 minutes on the sand to the left side. One of the restaurants helped us to call an Uber after the activity was over just be patient because it can take a little bit for a cab or uber to get there.

✳️My recommendations:

✔️Please bring a bottle of water, however if you are going to do the "bus option" even more because you will do a lot of walking. Comfortable clothes and shoes. 👕👖👟

✔️Try to be in the camp around 5-10 minutes prior because they start the turtle release right on time.

✔️Please bring your camera its a great experience and also the sunsets are just amazing.

✔️Please be sure to bring $ for donations and because they sell souvenirs as well, 100% of your donations will go to continue running this turtle camp.

There are many other camps in the area but I have found that this turtle camp is the one that has releases more often (almost daily) or at least they let us know because they post on their facebook page every morning if they will have any release on that day and the time it will happen. Here is their link https://www.facebook.com/seaturtlenan/

I hope that this travel tip was helpful for all of you and more people start supporting the turtle camp directly.
